Mon Feb 14th, 2011Follow the Copper Star
Celebrate the Arizona Centennial with the Graham County Historical Society by visiting the new exhibits in our museum. Many of our exhibition rooms will feature new displays of what was going on in Graham County during the year of statehood, February 14, 1911 through February 14, 1912. Our Centennial Exhibits will be featured for the next 12 months, culminating in a state-wide celebration on February 14, 2012. We especially want to draw your attention to the display in our Court Room. For the first time ever, we have the petitions that removed the Graham County seat from Solomonville to Safford in 1912.

More Info
Exciting new book offered by Danny Haralson. After a year of tedious research and writing this new book chronicles all the murders, hangings, homicides, lynchings and other mayhem in Graham County, Arizona from 1877 to 2010. You should be anxious to examine it carefully, because, you never know, one of your ancestors just might be mentioned as a perpetrator or as a victim. Buy it on line in our shop. Just click on More Info to go directly to our shop.

Sat Jan 15th, 2011Report from the Bureau of Land Management
The Safford office of the BLM has a new Property Manager, Ron Peru. We have submitted our application for land acquisition to Ron and will work on completing the process. However, Ron is required to attend the BLM Property Management Academy in Phoenix for 10 weeks starting in February. That means he will not be able to respond to our application needs until he returns to his office in Safford. We will keep you informed.

Mon Dec 13th, 2010Autumn Pepper Recital
Autumn Pepper will be presenting her first violin class recital. Autumn is the first chair in the EAC Chamber Orchestra. She has been performing with the Chamber Orchestra for three years, since she was 14 years old. She is Gale Barney's student and, with the encouragement of Gale, Franklin Alvarez, and others, is preparing her first students for a recital at the Museum. For those who enjoy young people and take joy in helping to reward and advance their hard work, this should be an evening to enjoy. There will be additional performances on violin and viola by EAC students and faculty who are helping Autumn get started. Please join us for cookies, hot chocolate and an evening of music.
